1970 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang Auctioned In Las Vegas

The 3rd Annual Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Collector Car Auction at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is quickly becoming the place to be if you’re looking to get a rare car for that classic collection.

Information was released about the selling of a 2008 Bugatti Veyron — among other prizes — at that same event, but if your collection packs nothing but good old fashioned American muscle, this next item should be on your list.

Stephen Becker, a well-known and respected Shelby expert, will be auctioning an original 1970 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang. Like the Veyron, the GT500 will be sold at no reserve at the Saturday, September 25 auction.

“With its 428 CJ engine, ventilated front disc brakes and rare color, this GT500 incorporates several unique components in a combination not found in other muscle cars,” Becker said.

If rare items are what fuel your engine, this Mustang is one of the rarest around. The GT500 being sold features a Grabber Green color with white stripes and black deluxe interior – the only car made with that color combination.

Becker’s GT500 fastback comes with most of its original components such as the smog system, radiator, fan and starter, warranty card, and original blue California license plate. This bright green angel of a muscle car has no rust or accident history and is documented in the Shelby Registry.

Becker happily gives a “serious collector the opportunity to own one of the last original GT500s.”

For 30 years, Stephen G. Becker LLC has widely been considered the most trusted resource for buying and selling genuine Shelbys. Information about Becker can be found at www.goplanetcobra.com and info about the auction can be viewed at www.barrett-jackson.com.
