2011 Mustang Shelby GT350 To Be Auctioned

The Carroll Shelby Foundation will auction a 45th Anniversary 2011 Shelby GT350, bearing CSM #145 during the 4th annual “Jordin Sparks Experience” during the week of the “big game” in Dallas. The limited edition 420 horsepower 2011 GT350 will be auctioned live during the event, which will begin with a minimum bid of $65,000. The Jordin Sparks Experience will take place Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., at the Sheraton Arlington in Arlington. World renowned recording artist Jordin Sparks will host the gathering, which will include performances and appearances by the brightest stars in sports and entertainment. For bidding information, please call (888) 868-6157 ext 745.

Sam Pack Ford Auto group has donated the 2011 pony car for the live auction. Proceeds from the 40th Anniversary Shelby GT350 auction will be split between the Carroll Shelby Foundation, Sparks Charities and Sam Pack Auto Group’s charity, the Holy Angels. The Carroll Shelby Foundation was founded by automotive legend Carroll Shelby to provide financial support for children battling life-threatening illnesses and promote continuing education. Holy Angels is a residential and training campus for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“We’re thrilled to be teaming up with the Jordin Sparks Experience again,” said Jenni Shreeves, director of the Carroll Shelby Foundation. “It’s especially exciting that the event is taking place in the Dallas area, where Carroll grew up. Like last year, we’re bringing a very special Shelby Mustang, the limited edition 45th Anniversary 2011 GT350. It’ll be sold to the highest bidder to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation, Sparks Charities and Holy Angels. They say everything’s bigger in the Lone Star State, so we’re excited to see everyone come together to support these three great charities, Texas style.”

Shelby American built 562 total GT350 fastback coupes in 1965; all were painted white with blue stripes. The 2011 Shelby GT350 is the 45th Anniversary post-title program based on the 5.0L Ford Mustang GT. The Mustang is white with blue LeMans stripes and comes with a 524 supercharged engine.

The special edition Shelby will be one of many stars gracing the event on Feb. 2 in North Texas during the week of the big football game. Featured celebrities scheduled to appear are Larry Fitzgerald, JoJo, Ashlyne Huff, Darren Woodson, Michael Strahan, Kerry Rhodes, Sam Moore and Devin Thomas.

The “Experience” is comprised of two events: the Sparkstown Teddy Bear Picnic and the Red White and Black Affair. Each event helps raise funds for Jordin and P.J. Sparks’ “I’m M.A.D., Are You?” Campaign, which since its inception has succeeded in “Making a Difference” domestically and abroad.

The campaign hopes to motivate others to find something they’re passionate about, maybe get a little “mad” about it, and funnel that energy into making a difference in their communities, families and world by just doing something to help another.

“I’m so excited that the Carroll Shelby Foundation will join us again,” said Sparks. “I’ve been a Shelby fan for years and it’s great to be a part of their work for deserving kids. The Shelby GT350 that the Foundation and Sam Pack Ford Auto Group are donating will be up for auction at my event and the proceeds will go towards helping three wonderful charities.”
