Ford’s Mustang Boss 302 to have a 8,000 Unit Limited Run

One month after Ford Motor Co.’s announcement of the return of the Mustang Boss 302, another news came yesterday that the company may limit the model’s release to only 8,000 units that will be built in a two-year span.

According to the automobile portal, TopSpeed, of those 8,000 units only 7,000 will be of the street variant with the rest being 302R race cars. That means there will only be 3,500 Boss Mustangs built for 2012, and another 3,500 for 2013.

It was on August 14 that Ford had announced the Mustang Boss 302 for 2012, with the same team of engineers, designers and stylists, who created the innovative 2011 Ford Mustang GT. At the same time, the company also said that in order to celebrate the racing heritage of the new Mustang Boss 302, it will also offer a limited number of Boss 302 Laguna Seca models.
